Density Calculator Information
Entering the correct density on your bill of lading will help ensure that your shipment is rated correctly. The GoFMI Density Calculator can help. Simply
- Select standard or metric to indicate how you will enter your shipment dimensions and weight.
- Enter the number of pieces.
- Enter the weight of each piece.
- Enter the dimensions (length, width and height). Note: You may enter either feet or inches for standard measurements.
- Click Add Another Item if necessary.
- When you have completed the information for all items, click Calculate; the tool will show the cubic feet, density and measurement in inches for each item and the total weight, pieces, cubic feet and average density for the whole shipment.
Other functions:
Delete button: remove an item from your calculations.
Reset All button: clear all items and return to an empty calculator form.
